Companions and Respite Care
Home Companions or respite workers can offer much needed social interaction for home bound clients and can provide relief for family caregivers.
Home companions can –
- provide social visits
- engage people in stimulating activities and recreation
- schedule and provide transportation for outings and appointments
- assist with phone calls and mail
- run errands
- offer help with minor household cleaning and tasks
- provide general monitoring of well-being
- provide reminders to take medications
- be the eyes and ears for family members while they are away
